iPhone 4 Cases to protect your Phone

iPhone 4 Bumpers
The iPhone 4 comes out in less than a week, launching what looks to be the most successful version (pre-sales sold out in less than 24 hours) of Apple’s already successful all-in-one smart phone.
If you’re one of the lucky few that was able to get a pre-order in, or plan on camping out for the phone on launch day, you’re probably going to want to pick up an iPhone case to protect your new investment. As an owner of the original iPhone, I know from experience how useful it is to have a great case– I’ve dropped my current phone over 50 times, and it still works great thanks to my great case (a black Agent 18).

So what iPhone 4 cases will be available for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 4?

So far, a lot of the major case manufacturers haven’t announced their iPhone 4 case designs yet. Speck, Incase, and Agent 18; all major iPhone case manufacturers; still have not released any cases for the new phone. This is likely due to the strict secrecy in which Apple keeps its new product designs, which prevent case manufacturers from designing new cases until the products are released to the public.
There are a few cases that have been announced though. First off is Apple’s own iPhone 4 case, dubbed the “iPhone 4 Bumper”. These are multicolored rubber and molded-plastic cases that wrap around the side of the iPhone 4, protecting the sides of the phone, while leaving the durable glass back and face of the phone uncovered. These cases will add a touch of color to your phone, as well as protect some protection from dropping it on its side.

For those looking for a little more protection, you might want to consider the Exovault iPhone case, which wraps the entire phone in a durable brass, aluminum, or titanium enclosure. These cases look great and are sure to provide great protection to the phone against dropping, but do add a little bit of bulk to the phone. The cases also run from $95 to $300 for the titanium version, so they might be a bit overpriced for the frugal iPhone case buyer.
For those looking for a case that not only provides protection, but portability as well, Sena has announced that they will be launching their entire line of popular iPhone cases for the new phone as well. These include the popular WalletSkin case, which covers the entire phone in quality leather and features a flip open screen, as well as the WalletBook, which lets you clip your iPhone to your belt.
And if you’re looking to keep the gorgeous RetinaDisplay of your new iPhone 4 clear of finger prints, Power Support is releasing their brand of iPhone screen covers for the upcoming iPhone. These covers not only help keep the iPhone screen clean, but also includes an anti-glare finish, so that you can see the display of the phone better outdoors or in bright light settings. It doesn’t offer any protection, but will help you keep your iPhone looking better, longer.
Those are just a few of the iPhone 4 cases that have been announced or are available today. These are some pretty good options if you need something to keep you covered on launch day, but expect to see more cases released as the major manufacturers get ahold of iPhone 4s of their own.
