The holiday season is here and many of us are anxious as well as excited about what to wear for the various parties. Unlike most regular days when I stand in front of my wardrobe and find nothing to wear for the day, the holiday season gives me ample time to prepare by browsing through the websites to buy new outfits. There is one particular brand of clothes I have my eyes on this season.

The brand is called Ronni Nicole and they have a variety of colors, cuts, and patterns to choose from for women of different shapes and sizes. If you like a simple look, you can opt for a plain black, blue or red dress. You can then get imaginative with your choice of earrings and necklaces as these dresses will be a good backdrop to display them. The silhouette of these clothes is very figure flattering as the cloth has the right cuts to give you a slim looking waistline.
If you are game for patterns and designs like I am, there are plenty of symmetrical and asymmetrical design patterns that are eye catching and festive looking. You can pair them with a neutral colored clutch or a black hobo bag and let the dress do the talking. You can also pair the dresses with black pumps or kitten heels.

There’s nothing like an early morning run to perk up your metabolism and give the body a much needed boost. I love going for outdoor runs because I enjoy the fresh air and seeing all that greenery around.
The autumn and spring months are best for morning jogs because the weather is rather pleasant. But during summers, I do tend to perspire a lot. So, I prefer wearing jogging suits or track pants that are light weight and sweat absorbent.

Women’s lightweight hoodies are a great pick for these morning runs. The hoodies protect you from sudden cold breezes and that occasional shower. Along with being light weight, they are stylish too. Of course, once in a while I do use them if I want to avoid someone on the run.
You can pick hoodies in either jacket or t-shirt styles. I prefer the front open jacket ones because if I am feeling too warm, I can always tie the jacket around my waist.
During summer months I prefer wearing shorts as they give my legs more room to breathe. But I don’t mind wearing capris or slightly loose tracks. Again, pure cotton garments work better than mixed or polyester one’s as they are skin-friendly and absorbs sweat.
Apart from the basic jogging outfit, there are some other factors to keep in mind when going for morning jogs or run-

• Use shock absorbent shoes and socks
• Carry a small napkin or handkerchief in your pocket if you perspire a lot
• Light colors like baby pinks, blues, whites, etc. look soothing during those hot months. Save the reds and maroons suits for the colder season

County fair wear

As a kid, I would love to spend the weekends at my grandpa’s farm. So, I have always had this fetish with attending county fairs or state fairs. Even though I live in downtown New York, I try and attend at least a couple of upstate county fairs. I love everything about them starting from livestock show to pie eating competitions!

Even though these are held in spring or summer, you cannot compromise on the fashion quotient. The entire social community is going to be there. But being casual is the norm of the fest. As a rule of thumb, I prefer wearing casual and warm-weather friendly.
You can find almost everyone in jeans, t-shirts, shorts and sneakers. But stay away from skimpy clothing since it’s really looked down upon. To give yourself a country twist with an uptown bend, try wearing cowboy boots or cowboy hats.

I prefer cowboy boot styles Lucky brand boots because they are so comfortable. Pick something that stops at or below the knees (up-to-the-thigh ones are really tacky for such events). A lot of my friends prefer sandals, but girls I really don’t want to ruin that pedicure!
Being a cow-girl at heart, I love straying into the sheds to see animals and livestock. The dusty and muddy county ground can take a toll on your feet. So, something covered and yet comfy works fine with me.
I prefer the hat because it offers the much needed sun-protection. Applying sunscreen every 2-3 hours is really not possible at these all-day-long fairs. A cotton or linen shirt, with a vest, completes my Rodeo look!

School supplies that are going green

Summer starts soon, which means that a whole new school year is just around the corner. I think it’s never too early to start planning for all the school supplies I’ll need to pick up. Though it’s not required by schools, I highly recommend buying school supplies that have gone green. If we make sustainable choices, even for small things like notebooks and pencils, then we’ll help conserve the resources of our planet in the long run. The key is colors and strategic use of accessories to emphasize what you want to highlight and hide what you don’t. You want a streamlined, graceful, long line which slims, and also looks most professional–clean lines like those of an attorney’s office. But you also want to show a bit more flare and personality, because it’s on TV. The use of cardigans or shift dresses with sleeves will hide your arms as you said you wanted to. If you have a nipped in waist with a belted, fitted dress, or a cardigan on top, you will also create a feminine figure and hide any areas in the middle you don’t feel so confident about. Top it off with a knock-out necklace or scarf for extra flare for TV.
Mrs. O always has a killer accessories, and she loves COLOR, COLOR, COLOR. Too much color might not be appropriate for TV, since you are representing yourself as a corporate attorney, but you can take some style cues and infuse a little bit of color into your outfit. She goes for jewel tones, and bright, saturated hues and floral prints. If that’s too much, try doing 1 thing, like a scarf, or a bright brooch.
See how she emphasizes the smallest part of her body? Cinch the waist. It’s the best thing most women can do. Try to find a fancy leather belt no thicker than 2″. For a more polished, professional look, you’re safer with a 1.5″ or 1″ belt. If you’re wearing plain black, get a zebra or leopard print 1″ skinny belt. Then accessorize with a slightly edgy, multi-chain necklace. The ferocity of the leopard would look weird with pearls.
