When it’s hot and sultry, the last clothing that you want to wear is a constricting pantsuit! One of the most difficult decisions that any lady faces is to understand what is acceptable when the dress code is business casual. The fact that most of us get a laidback feeling during the warmer months and tend to go slack when dressing, only adds to the dilemma.  You’ll actually find some ladies who think it’s acceptable to wear strapless tops and flip flops to office for a business casual day in summer!  Here are some general guidelines that you could adapt to suit your office environment.

  • Wear clothes made of materials that allow your skin to breathe such as wrinkle free cotton blend. White cotton shirts lend a wonderful summery feel. Sheer fabrics give a feminine touch to your ensemble. However, you should ensure that you wear the appropriate undergarments.

  • Wearing pants could make you feel really hot unless you choose a loose flowy one. You could wear tailored cropped pants if your office dress code allows. Put on a jacket to give a formal touch to your outfit.
  • Make the most of the warm weather by wearing ensembles with a dash of color. If most of your outfit is neutral hued, wear a scarf or a light cardigan to brighten up the outfit.Find out whether you could wear sandals or open-toed shoes to your workplace. If so, do remember to get a pedicure done before you slip your feet into them.
