Black tie dress solutions

tuxedo dress for women
Black tie events have never really been my thing. If given an option I would stick to classic maxi dresses or jersey sundresses. But you need to have at least one outfit in your wardrobe, which doubles as a black tie dress and is fashionable for the holiday circuit too.

A lot of women presume that black tie dresses are too upscale, costly and rather extravagant. Anything from a floor-sweeping ball gown to a short and elegant cocktail dress can work here. With the 80’s retro style coming back in full swing, it is time that you experimented with feminine menswear.
One of my favorites here are tuxedo dress for women. Kim Kardashian had sported a similar look at the Cannes festival with a jacket. Even though black remains to be the ever-popular color associated with tuxes, fashionistas can pick from some brighter hues.
Tuxedo dress for womenI love the Marc New York ruched tuxedo dress, which is affordably priced. It has ravishing ruffles line with a standing collar and front split neck. The tux-inspired outfit comes in animal print, giving classic fashion a contemporary twist. The button placket and seaming details on the back add to that oomph factor!
Now, you needn’t invest in a black tie dress, which is restrictive or exorbitantly priced. A chic cocktail dress doubles as a formal outfit. Knee length outfits are not a faux passé here. But do avoid something that ends way above the knees, as it’s tacky for such occasions.
Some other options for black tie events are-
  • Feminine tux-style jackets
  • Dresses, which have a classic button down style
  • Stand up collars
