I love orange! There is something so vivacious and vibrant about the color. Be in the funky or fluorescent hue or the matte and lighter tinge, orange is one color that can really spruce up a plain outfit. However, it can be very tricky to pull off. This is the reason that it gets used sparingly.
I personally love the combination of navy blue with orange (though the bright color looks great with other tones of blue also). As a rule of thumb, never overdo it with the orange and try to wear it from head to toe – this ain’t the 70s anymore. Also, be careful when choosing the color you pair orange with. Color clashing is easy with orange! If you want to wear more of orange, then there are few tips to keep in mind:
- Remember back in art class, when you had to learn the color wheel? This seemingly random memory will come in handy when choosing the colors you want to compliment with your orange piece. Try and pick colors that are farthest or opposite from orange, like blue. So, if you are wearing an orange dress shirt, choose blue jeans or leggings.
- Neutral color combinations are always a safe bet: team up your orange with white, browns, tans or even black. But remember to wear orange with black only if there is a third color too, unless you want to look like a Halloween pumpkin!
- If you’re daring, try wearing chic orange pumps. The latest trendy peep-toe dress style shoes from Jessica Bennett Pamela are to die for. This sexy platform pump combines subtle sophistication with vibrancy. Wear it with Pucci inspired patterns instead of solid orange separates.
- Accessories in orange can bring brightness to your wardrobe in a safer way. An orange tote like Maggie Mather’s tennis tote combines style and functionality. Light in weight with plenty of interiors for your girly stuff, this tote’s water-repellent surface hides a delightful zebra print lining inside. You can wear it with a hip pair of orange sunglasses to flaunt the color, but best avoid that solid orange dress. An orange tee and dark blue denims will break the monotony of this solid, glaring color.
