When I heard that leather was in style in the past I brushed it off because it never seemed like a style I could pull off. I imagined motorcycle chicks with helmets. I typically like to wear more feminine clothing, but I’ve been recently inspired by some of the examples I’ve seen of celebs and models wearing leather pencil skirts.
One feminine example I saw recently was of Kristin Cavallari on the red carpet. She wore a black leather skirt and paired it with a pale pink floral lace top. This is great example of how you can wear a leather skirt, but still keep it flirty and feminine. The hard core, tough chic doesn’t work on me, but for some it does, so if it works for you, go for it!
Whitney Port really made an unexpected move by pairing a loose white t-shirt and a black leather skirt. This might sound odd, but the look works with a pair a strapy high-heels. It kind of makes a look that you would typically think of as uncomfortable, actually comfortable.
Another tip about wearing leather skirts, for those of you who are still skeptical, is that they don’t have to be black. Maybe black leather is to bold for you, well there are other options. A dark red or beige can look very sophisticated and in some cases even be worn to work. So if you’ve been debating whether you should try wearing a leather skirt or not my advice is to go for it. Trust me, if I can wear one, so can you.
