Autumn style in a pinch

Autumn style in a pinch

With the dog days of summer fast upon us, we are only left with one option, to gear up and bring out our fall/winter wardrobe. If this just makes you worry about money, don’t! Our list involves using your current wardrobe to add touches of fall 2011 fashion trends to your fall look, so don’t freak out. Here’s what you need to update your fall 2011 fashion style.
Colors
If you can’t afford a new piece for your wardrobe then look through your wardrobe to see if you have any mustard, rust-colored, jade green or tastefully done camo-pieces. If that doesn’t work then try getting a new accessory like a Brooke
Tops
Tops with a plunging neckline were big on the runway this season. To maximize this look, try a plunging neckline top in a jewel-hued purple.
Sweaters
For 2011′s fall and winter, pair pants and skirts with a chunky sweater. Style and pattern don’t matter but if you want to be safe, try basic neutral colors like black, white and grey. Or go with camo-inspired colors like nougat brown and winter greens and blues. If you don’t have any chunky sweaters, search through your closet for a cozy sweater that will keep you stylish and warm throughout the season.
Pants
I know this may be a surprise, maybe even shocking, but this year’s trend in pants was bright! That’s right, those bright pants of summer and spring are still in for fall 2011. Pair your bright yellow or melon pants with a sweet cozy or chunky sweater for winter and fall fashion style.
Skirts
If you have a gauzy skirt left over from summer, you’re in luck! Pair that skirt up with a sweater and you are set. Other skirt trends include skirts with slits up to questionable regions and flowy maxi skirts.
